For RECOM Consultants, the professions of sustainable development include three main categories, each

with their own specifics.

 

Environment-related professions

 

Traditionally, we classify the environmental missions into five major categories:
 

- Protection, management of natural spaces and animal species

- Prevention, pollutions and pollutants treatment

- Land-use planning and living environment

- Human protection, hygiene and security

- Societal management of the environment

 

The new professions of the sustainable development

 

RECOM Consultants observes since the beginning of the 2000’s that the local governments and firms progressively begin to integrate the sustainable development into their policies, with effects that become perfectible at the level of the employment.

 

In the local governments, we see global sustainable development policies putted in place. These policies similar to a local Agenda 21 are led by qualified persons to steer and host these policies.

Within the companies, RECOM Consultants see coming a most global approach, called corporate social responsibility (CSR).

 

Green growth professions.

 

These professions are destined to manage sustainable development issues, arise from the integration of the sustainable development concerns that are often a retraining of “classical professions” (construction industry, farming, industry).
